Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I consider it to be just as important as air. Music lifts the spirits and brings light into the dark corners of our being to remind us of the True Beauty of Life.
Here is one of my favourite and most recent aquisitions, the 'Hapi' drum.
'Hapi' stands for; 'Hand Activated Percussion Instrument' and it presents a forward evolution in the art of drumming that was previously non-existant; melody.
The hapi drum was created by american percussionst John Pascuzzi about two years ago, in Orange California.
A meditative and haunting sound to encourage peace and relaxation.
Enjoy!

When I went into the hospital for my open heart surgery (to replace my aortic valve, which had become too narrow to work properly) I took my ukulele with me and wrote a few songs to keep my joy level up.
Here's one I wrote a day before the surgery. I wasn't sure, and neither was my nephrologist, that I would survive the surgery, so I wanted my 'last' song to be a joyful one.
I recorded it a week after I got home from the hospital so my voice is pretty bad and I look like hell. But, my intention was to inspire other patients as well as entertain.

Cheers!

Sunshine,
Here's a video of Downchild from the late 70's. Don't let my appearance scare you! It's somewhere near the middle and luckily, is brief.
I couldn't understand why the camera-man decided to show me during the point of the song that I wasn't even playing... Oh well, go figure.

The Happy Ukester

A banjo player and his wife were woken at 3 o'clock in the morning by loud knocking on the door.
The banjo player got up, went to the door and found a ukulele player standing in the pouring rain.
"I need a push", said the ukulele player.
"Not a chance", said the banjo player, "it's 3 o'clock in the morning", slammed the door and went back to bed.
"Who was that?" asked his wife.
"Just some ukulele player bloke asking for a push", he answered.
"Did you help him?", she asked.
"No, I did not, it's 3 o'clock in the morning and it's pouring rain outside" he said.
"Well, .... you have a short memory", said the wife, "don't you remember, about three months ago when we broke down, and those two nice young men helped us?. I think you should help him and you should be ashamed of yourself".
The banjo player does as he's told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pouring rain.
He called out into the dark night, "Hello, are you still there?".
"Yes" comes back the answer.
"Do you still need a push?", called the banjo player.
"Yes please", came the reply from the dark.
"Where are you?", asked the banjo player.
The ukulele player replied, "Over here on the swing".
